Burnley and Arsenal fans go head-to-head after controversial Turf Moor game

Burnley’s defeat to Arsenal at Turf Moor this afternoon appeared to end in chaos as fights broke out between the fans.

Footage taken by LancsLive, which you can see above, appeared to show the two groups of supporters brawling after Arsenal secured a 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

Martin Odegaard’s first-half free kick gave Arsenal their first away win of the season, but the game descended into controversy when Burnley were denied a chance to equalize from the penalty spot.

Referee Anthony Taylor reversed his original decision after reviewing Aaron Ramsdale’s challenge against substitute Matej Vydra on the pitchside screen.

LancsLive has approached Burnley FC and Lancashire Constabulary for further information.

Sean Dyche will later give his opinion on the canceled penalty.

The Burnley manager said: “Unfortunately this one went against us last year and this one didn’t go in our favor.

“It’s not a major surprise with our penalty record, I have to say the keeper is touching it, I’ve seen it back, so in theory it doesn’t happen, you might wonder why, if that is unclear and obvious error, but it was obvious to go to the VAR screen.

“I was a little confused as to how we don’t get a corner out of it either, I may not know the rule on postponing these decisions.

“Last season the Bamford one was given, this season not, but sometimes that’s how it goes.”
