Arsenal and Burnley fans clash in the stands as stewards fail to control Turf Moor carnage

Arsenal and Burnley supporters clashed in the stands at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon as the stewards failed to separate the rival full-time supporters.

The Gunners cruised to a 1-0 win thanks to a brilliant moment from Martin Odegaard, with the home side denied a late penalty by VAR following a challenge from Aaron Ramsdale.

With Sean Dyche’s men frustrated on the pitch, many in attendance also seemed annoyed by the clash clips shared online.

Stewards could be seen trying to take control as tempers flared, with fans walking past empty seats to meet amid the split in support.

The Arsenal boss told the Match of the Day: “It was a hard fought win in a really tough place.

“You have to be ready for a fight. In the first half we had some really good periods where we were really dominant and we should have scored more goals. In the second half we gave the ball to cheap.

“We have players who are not at their strength in this type of match, but they gave their best and we got the win. I’m very proud of them defensively and I’m really happy with the win.

“It’s two wins in a row, two clean sheets. Here we go again. We have a lot to catch up on!”

And Dyche added: “I think it was a good performance. I feel like a record breaker saying that lately. In the first half we didn’t do a lot of badly. In the second half, I thought we stifled the game. It was head-scratching that we didn’t score.

“We created a few good chances. We took the game wonderfully, but you have to find that decisive advantage. I think we defended very well today and limited Arsenal to very few chances, which is difficult to To do. .

“It’s very rare that we dominate a game today like we did against them. That clinical advantage in both boxes is important. It was a very good performance at the end.”
